How to make a weighted Blanket
Though I have never tried it my self, I have read that weighted blankets and vests can have a very calming affect on those with Autism. I remember my son’s doctor suggesting I try a weighted vest to see if it helped sooth him when he got upset. However, I had no idea where to even get one and the Child Development Centre didn’t have them at the time. Now you can order them off the net or buy them on Ebay. However, not everyone can afford them, they can get rather pricy.
So for those who have a bit of a sewing bug or have a friend or family member that can help, here are some resources I found on how to make your own.
